Thank You for Being Part of Hold My Hand
On behalf of The Children’s Center of Cicero-Berwyn, I extend my sincere gratitude to everyone who joined us for our Hold My Hand Fundraiser on October 16.
Bringing our community together around a shared commitment to children and families reminds us of what we can accomplish when we work toward a common purpose. Thank you to everyone who attended, contributed, volunteered, and helped make this event possible. Your participation and commitment to our mission mean so much to us.
Grants provide essential resources for our programs, but they do not always cover every need or opportunity that arises. The funds raised through Hold My Hand help bridge those gaps, allowing us to respond to unexpected needs, support educational field trips, and provide enriching experiences and special activities for children in programs where additional resources can make a meaningful difference.
This flexibility allows us to pursue opportunities that might otherwise be out of reach and strengthens our ability to support the children and families who depend on our programs.
I am deeply grateful to the community partners, supporters, and friends who stand alongside The Children’s Center and believe in the importance of this work. Your support reinforces an important truth: when we invest in children and support families, we invest in the future of our entire community.

The Children’s Center of Cicero-Berwyn proudly recognizes Bob Geringer for his remarkable 35 years of service as Board Treasurer. His steadfast leadership, dedication, and commitment helped carry forward Patricia Makris’s vision and strengthen our mission to support children and families.
We are grateful for Bob’s extraordinary service and the lasting impact he has made on The Children’s Center and the community we serve.
Thank you, Bob, for your 35 years of dedication and for being such an important part of our history.

Back-to-School Smiles & Supplies with Central Dental Associate
On Monday, August 24th, The Children’s Center of Cicero-Berwyn welcomed Central Dental Associates for a special Back-to-School visit at our Red Feather location. Dr. Shah and Kaley joined us to celebrate the start of the new school year and presented each child enrolled in our Preschool-for-All Programs with a backpack filled with essential school supplies. We are grateful to Dr. Shah, Kaley, and the entire Central Dental Associates team for their generous support and for helping make the beginning of the school year extra special for our children!!
El lunes 24 de agosto, The Children’s Center of Cicero-Berwyn recibió a Central Dental Associates para una visita especial con motivo del regreso a clases en nuestra sede de Red Feather. El Dr. Shah y Kaley nos acompañaron para celebrar el inicio del nuevo año escolar y entregaron a cada niño inscrito en nuestros programas "Preschool-for-All" una mochila llena de útiles escolares esenciales.
¡Agradecemos al Dr. Shah, a Kaley y a todo el equipo de Central Dental Associates por su generoso apoyo y por ayudar a que el comienzo del año escolar fuera muy especial para nuestros niños!

Live! Butterflies!
A live butterfly educator visited the Children's Center of Cicero-Berwyn, bringing live butterflies, caterpillars, and chrysalises for children to observe up close in a safe, hands-on learning environment.
Children learned about the butterfly life cycle, pollination, and habitats through an interactive presentation that encouraged questions, observation, and age-appropriate science exploration.

Visit from Virginia Martinez, Storyteller / Author of The four Adventures with Abuela books about: the Brookfield Zoo, Shedd Aquarium, Griffin Museum of Science and Industry and Adler Planetarium - and, currently, working on a fifth (5th) book about the Field Museum (which will be out next year).

This Spring, the Children’s Center of Cicero–Berwyn celebrates growth, discovery, and community. From hands-on classroom activities to family engagement programs, our children are blossoming every day—building skills, confidence, and a bright future together.
CCCB Newsletter
This fall season was filled with learning, laughter, and celebration at the Children’s Center of Cicero-Berwyn.
Our classrooms welcomed autumn with seasonal activities and outdoor fun, followed by festive Halloween celebrations full of costumes and smiles. In November, families and children came together to reflect on gratitude during our Thanksgiving activities. We closed the year by spreading joy and kindness through our Christmas celebrations, creating special memories for children, families, and staff.
Thank you for being part of a wonderful year—we look forward to all that the new year will bring.
